Job summary

Operations Council seeks a seasoned chief operating officer to translate strategy into actionable plans across finance, HR, technology, and operations. You will lead long-term financial planning and model scenarios that sustain growth while ensuring compliance and risk controls.

You will serve on the executive team, partner with the Board, and guide organizational design, compensation strategy, and cross-functional priorities aligned with mission impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably as a COO or equivalent.
• Direct experience overseeing organizational finance at a senior level.
• Proven track record designing and executing business modeling, long-term forecasting, and cost management.
• Strong data analysis and strategic thinking in fast-paced environments.
• Fluency in HR, legal, technology, and operations to ask sharp questions without needing to be the expert in every domain.
• Systems thinking: anticipate cross-functional impacts and risks.
• Trustworthy executive presence with Board, funders, and leaders.
• Collaborative leadership style emphasizing trust and delegation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief operating partner to the Executive Director and translate strategy into cross-functional execution.
• Sit on the executive leadership team and contribute to organizational strategic and financial planning.
• Represent finance, operations, HR, legal, technology, and risk to the Board and committees.
• Partner with Strategy and Impact to assess systems, capacity, risk tolerance, and resources to close gaps.
