Job summary

The Montgomery County Board of Education seeks a Director of Student Wellness and Culture to lead district-wide efforts integrating SEL, student engagement, mental health, and equitable school climate.

This senior role oversees PBIS, MTSS, trauma-informed practices, and staff training, aligning with equity priorities to ensure safe, inclusive environments and strong family engagement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in relevant field; administrative certification preferred.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in K-12 education with emphasis on SEL and culture.
• Experience design and delivery of staff development in SEL, PBIS, MTSS, or trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a district-wide strategy for student wellness, engagement, and culture.
• Align efforts with MTSS, equity priorities, and district strategic plan.
• Lead PBIS implementation, restorative practices, and equitable discipline frameworks.
• Oversee district mental health services and trauma-informed practices.
• Coach and supervise mental health professionals, social workers, and related staff.
• Facilitate district-wide training on SEL, de-escalation, and behavior supports.
• Monitor discipline data to improve equity and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with school leaders and families to foster belonging and readiness.
