Job summary

Windy Hill Middle School in Owings, Maryland seeks a Wellness Coordinator to lead a comprehensive wellness program for students, families, and staff. The role focuses on organizing, planning, and facilitating health and fitness activities and building a culture of wellness across the school community.

The person will recruit a building-level team, set wellness goals, and provide evidence of program success while collaborating with community partners.

Qualifications

• Passion for wellness promotion and the ability to model CCPS wellness policy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Management, leadership, and human relations abilities.
• Ability to exercise good judgement in decision making.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a needs assessment to identify health trends and resources to plan school-based wellness activities.
• Recruit and chair a school wellness team.
• Hold monthly wellness team meetings and document progress.
• Collaborate with county-wide wellness coordinators.
• Develop school wellness vision, goals, and initiatives; implement activities.
