Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Chief of Staff to the Chief Science Officer to align strategy with execution across science, product, engineering, and operations.

You will organize priorities, manage meetings, track studies and publications, and help translate the Science Team vision into concrete roadmaps, ensuring timely decisions and clear communications.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in life sciences, strategic problem-solving, and strong leadership in matrixed settings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in life sciences, healthcare, or related field.
• Experience requiring scientific judgment, strategic problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership across scientific, technical, commercial, and operations functions.

Responsibilities

• Define annual and quarterly priorities for the Science Team.
• Translate priorities into actionable plans with milestones, ownership, and success metrics.
• Lead as an active member of the Science Leadership Team and manage team operations.
• Coordinate with Finance and Commercial on pipeline forecasts and capacity planning.
• Support Science Team budget management and governance for conferences and software licensing.
• Prepare leadership materials and represent the CSO in select internal meetings.
