Job description

Our client is the leader of Texas-focused professional research, public relations, public affairs, corporate campaigns, and statewide on-the-ground advocacy. They navigate the diverse Texas landscape to earn public trust and market share for their clients. They are seeking a highly capable and proactive Chief of Staff to join their top-flight team.

This role functions as a true extension of the Managing Partner—combining executive support, operational systems, special projects, marketing, talent, and internal initiatives—to enable leadership to focus on the highest-value work and position the firm for continued growth. They value people who rise to a challenge with confidence, bring exceptional organization, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

This role is designed to be a force multiplier. Working directly alongside the Managing Partner, you will take his vision, and the detail around it, and turn it into real-world operation as it relates to company marketing, operations, talent, and internal initiatives to advance the business.

The right person is highly organized, exceptionally attentive to detail, personable, and able to command a room. You bring creativity and taste, a strong instinct for what is on brand for the company, and the discipline to finish complex projects. Above all, you operate with discretion and a deep commitment to the firm and to the Partner you support.

Duties and Responsibilities
Executive Support & Coordination
  • Serve as a consistent, trusted presence and reliable point of continuity.
  • Act as an extension of the Managing Partner, owning special projects from concept through execution.
  • Manage the Managing Partner’s logistics and administrative load, protecting his time against a demanding, shifting set of priorities.
  • Be the key intermediary for a number of external organizations.
  • Coordinate external business interests and initiatives where the Managing Partner is involved.
Marketing & Brand
  • Take ownership of the firm’s marketing program and brand presence—extracting ideas and bringing them to life through strategy, content, and execution.
  • Own the firm’s brand voice across channels, with LinkedIn as the priority platform, and maintain a consistent, high-quality presence across X, Meta, and the company website.
  • Develop thought leadership pieces and firm communications in coordination with the Managing Partner.
Business Development Support
  • Qualify and nurture leads handed off by the Managing Partner, managing select opportunities through client engagement.
  • Build and maintain connectivity across the lead, contracting and won business pipeline.
  • Arrange relationship-building opportunities.
  • Research firms, field teams, and potential partners across Texas to strengthen the firm’s geographic reach.
  • Serve as an always-on talent scout, continually meeting and identifying candidates who could fit the firm culture and expertise needs.
  • Source and conduct initial screening, then recommend strong candidates for further interviews.
Operations & Internal Systems
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead operational improvement.
  • Implement systems related to employee growth, culture, and internal processes that advance the professional setting of the company.
  • Provide air traffic control on account staff allocation, working with the leadership team to ensure balanced workload across the client portfolio.
  • Apply advanced Excel skills and integrate AI tools to streamline analysis and internal processes.
  • Contribute to internal innovation, including new tools and technology that improve how the firm works.
Team Programming & Culture
  • Own the employee experience—team events, offsites, and professional development.
  • Lead event-based planning and logistics, including client entertainment.
  • Help build the connective tissue of a firm operating across two offices.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience preferred as an Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, operations professional, marketing coordinator or similar high-impact support role.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in design, including Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet proficiency; experience or demonstrated interest in leveraging AI to improve analysis, internal functions and operations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, X and Meta platforms and content best practices.
  • Experience with event planning and logistics.
