Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited anesthesiology residency.
• Completion of a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology with pediatric subspecialty.
• Eligibility for active Missouri medical licensure and DEA registration.
• BLS and PALS certifications.
• Eligibility for hospital credentialing and clinical privileges.
• Record of clinical excellence and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the department's clinical, educational, and research activities.
• Oversee pediatric anesthesia services across preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative recovery.
• Maintain active clinical practice aligned with departmental needs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, guidelines, and regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, CMS).
• Develop and implement departmental protocols and quality initiatives.
• Recruit, retain, mentor, and credential anesthesiology physicians and staff.
• Manage budget, resources, and capital planning with admin partners.
• Participate in institutional strategic planning and medical executive committee.
• Oversee anesthesia coverage for surgical services and pain management programs.
• Foster collaboration among surgeons, nurses, and administration.
• Lead or support research and educational programs in pediatric anesthesiology.
• Engage in incident reviews and corrective action planning.
• Advance patient experience and program growth.
