Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• ACGME anesthesiology residency
• Pediatric anesthesiology fellowship
• 7+ years of post-residency clinical experience in anesthesiology with a focus on pediatric care
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology with subspecialty pediatric certification
• Missouri licensure eligibility and DEA registration
• BLS and PALS certification
• Evidence of clinical excellence, leadership, and academic contributions
• Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills
• Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team
• Patient-centered approach and commitment to growth in practice

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for the department's clinical, educational, and research activities
• Oversee pediatric anesthesia services from preoperative assessment through postoperative recovery
• Maintain an active clinical practice aligned with departmental needs
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, guidelines, and regulatory standards
• Develop and implement departmental protocols, clinical pathways, and quality initiatives
• Recruit, retain, mentor, and credential anesthesiology physicians and staff
• Manage the departmental budget, resources, and capital planning
• Serve on the hospital's medical executive committee and participate in strategic planning
• Oversee anesthesia coverage for surgical services and pain management programs
• Foster collaboration among surgeons, nursing leadership, clinical teams, and administration
• Lead or support research, publications, and educational programs
• Participate in incident reviews and corrective action plans
• Advance patient experience and program growth
