Job summary

Counseling Works seeks an experienced Director of Operations to align clinical and administrative teams across multiple Chicago-area offices. You will own all operational functions, drive data-driven decisions, and ensure HIPAA compliance while guiding quarterly Rocks and EOS scorecard execution.

Hybrid role with opportunity to shape processes, scale systems, and support growth for clinicians and clients alike.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading operations teams in healthcare (outpatient or behavioral health).
• Experience managing managers and accountable to measurable results.
• Working knowledge of the revenue cycle: intake, eligibility, credentialing, billing, and collections.
• Comfort building and running a scorecard and making decisions from data.
• Strong HIPAA knowledge and confidentiality handling.
• Bachelor's degree in business/healthcare administration or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operations team, conduct weekly meetings, coach leads, and manage hiring and onboarding.
• Design department KPIs, maintain the operations scorecard and dashboards, monitor metrics.
• Oversee the client and revenue journey from inquiry to payment (marketing, referrals, intake, scheduling, billing, credentialing).
• Develop and maintain systems for facilities, tech access, data security, and HIPAA safeguards.
• Turn growth ideas into clear Rocks and quarterly plans; present to leadership.
