The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is currently seeking a full-time Chief, Infrastructure Management, GS-2210-14 located at the HQ AFOSI IT Directorate, Infrastructure and User Services Division, Quantico, VA.

Salary Rate: $143,000 – 163,000

Relocation and recruitment incentives may be available based on eligibility.

Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

AFOSI is hiring a Chief of Infrastructure Management at Quantico, Virginia. This fast-paced, highly visible role manages design, implementation, and operation of AFOSI worldwide systems and networks, provides guidance to staff on implementation and operation of critical Information Technology services, and serves as the central focal point for system and network operational status reporting to AFOSI leadership and elements of the Department of the Air Force cyber enterprise. Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with and working knowledge of Air Force, DoD, and Federal Communications and Law Enforcement agencies are required.

• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• Must sign a non-disclosure agreement
• The incumbent must undergo an internal background investigation by AFOSI and must be approved for duty by the Commander of AFOSI or the Commander’s designated representative
• This is a designated drug testing position
• A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, cybersecurity, software development, computer, engineering, or significant coursework that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the fields of computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution is preferred or highly desired
• A Master’s Degree or advanced degree(s) from accredited institutions in one of the above technical fields and/or professional certification(s) in cloud (AWS, Azure, Google), networking (Cisco, SolarWinds, F5), virtualization (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft), systems administration (Microsoft, Red Hat), software development, and cybersecurity are highly desired
• Knowledge of a broad range of enterprise IT, cloud technology, architecture, systems administration, and software development principles and methods used in developing, testing, installing, deploying, managing, and maintaining secure network services that support functional requirements
• Expert knowledge of network architecture, topology, and protocols sufficient to plan, design, and install physical and virtual network devices (switches, routers, firewalls), physical network cabling, and network peripherals (printers, scanners) in a Cisco networking environment
• Expert knowledge in installing and managing operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases (Oracle, MS SQL), and application software in on-premise data centers, virtualized environments, and government cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government Cloud, AF Cloud One).
• Knowledge of project management principles, methods, and best practices for developing plans for integrating and implementing new network and server technology into existing architecture and developing future architecture to migrate to the cloud
• Knowledge of operational cybersecurity best practices such vulnerability scans, vulnerability remediation, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Security Requirements Guide (SRG) implementation, and reporting compliance with various types of Task Orders including Maintenance Task Orders (MTOs) and Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs) to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
• This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission-Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
