The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full time IT Cybersecurity Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN), GG-2210-13 to work in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at JBSA in San Antonio-Lackland, TX.

Base Salary Range: $132,751 to $181,428

The primary purpose of the position is: To serve as a professional information technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of IT services tailored to support architecture development, software development, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for cyberspace systems. Provides advanced knowledge and skill in the development, use and sustainment of IT systems and is considered an advanced IT user.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

(NOTE: Typically, the 1-year probationary period is for Competitive Jobs, and 2-year trail period is for Excepted Jobs.)

This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V3007.

Qualifications/Requirements

• U.S. Citizenships Required.
• This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification within 9 months of assigned duties.
• Must obtain and maintain the required Information Assurance Certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
• Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects; and to design, write, test, debug, and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the cyber weapon system environment.
• Knowledge of operational activities (such as special operations, personnel recovery, airlift, etc...), weapon systems, and command, control, and mission process, systems, and applications.
• Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance evaluate risk, and/or extend weapon system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.
• Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed.
• Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
