Job summary

Shake Shack in New York, NY is seeking a Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis to serve as the strategic financial conscience of the company. You will partner with the CFO and the executive team to shape growth, investments, and long-range plans.

This role leads enterprise FP&A, long-range planning, unit economics, and the financial narrative for earnings and Board materials. You will build a best-in-class FP&A organization and upgrade planning systems across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative field.
• 12+ years of progressive corporate finance experience with FP&A leadership at scale.
• 5+ years managing managers within a finance organization and building high-performing teams.
• Public company experience; ability to support earnings, guidance, Board reporting, and SOX FP&A processes.
• Deep expertise in long-range planning, unit-economic modeling, and ROI analytics for capital-intensive growth.
• Credible thought partner to senior executives with executive presence to influence at Board/Investor level.
• Experience with modern finance systems and analytics tools; familiarity with Workday, Tableau, and Snowflake is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise FP&A partnership with the CFO; manage annual operating plan, quarterly reforecasts, monthly close commentary, and multi-year plans.
• Serve as a business partner translating operational goals into financial commitments and operational priorities.
• Model and analyze price/mix/traffic, labor, food costs, margins, and channel profitability to drive margin expansion.
• Lead the Strategy & Enterprise Planning function and develop multi-year financial framework tied to strategy and capital plans.
• Support earnings narratives, guidance setting, Investor Day, and Board materials with decision-ready analyses.
• Build and mentor a best-in-class FP&A organization; ensure coverage planning during leaves.
• Upgrade planning systems, reporting cadences, and embed a single financial language across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with Controllership, Treasury, Tax, and Investor Relations for auditable FP&A outputs.
