Job summary

New York City Police Department is seeking an Executive Director of the Office Equal Employment Opportunity to plan, develop, and manage EEO programs, investigations, and related administrative duties to ensure compliance with laws and policies. You will supervise key units and provide guidance to management on equitable employment practices.

The role requires NYS Bar admission with extensive senior legal experience, strong leadership, and expertise in EEO policy, investigations, and training.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar and four years of relevant legal experience, including at least 18 months in supervision.
• Must remain a member in good standing of the NYS Bar for the duration of employment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local discrimination/EEO laws and related civil rights statutes.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement EEO policies in compliance with laws and Citywide policies.
• Conduct root cause and trend analyses of EEO data and incidents.
• Advise agency leadership on EEO matters and complaint resolution.
• Prepare quarterly EEO reports to DCAS, City Council and EEPC.
• Oversee investigations, draft reports, and recommend compliant resolutions.
• Lead EEO training and compliance programs for staff at all levels.
• Mentor staff and ensure policy guidance and support.
