City of New York, through the NYPD's Office of Equity & Inclusion, seeks an Executive Agency Counsel to oversee legal guidance and policy compliance. The role reports to the Deputy Commissioner, Employee Relations, and focuses on equity, inclusion, and fair practice across police operations.

Qualifications

• Admit to NYS Bar; four years of recent full-time legal experience.
• Experience in administrative, managerial or executive capacity.
• Familiarity with compliance of federal and city laws.

Responsabilités

• Assist Deputy Commissioner, Employee Relations, in formulating and implementing policies and procedures to achieve departmental objectives.
• Ensure Language Access Program compliance for LEP individuals and police services.
• Coordinate with Office of Equal Employment Opportunity on quarterly EEO reports.
• Provide legal guidance to Military Liaisons.
• Assess department policies to ensure fairness, impartiality and transparency.
• Conduct workplace and workforce assessments to identify potential legal liabilities.
• Liaise with Legal Bureau and stakeholders to implement best practices.
• Draft responses and Department policy documents ensuring legal compliance.
