Job summary

Wpromote seeks an senior engineering leader to guide a broad engineering organization across application services, data pipelines, and cloud platforms. You will build durable teams, define architecture roadmaps, and drive AI and automation initiatives while balancing cost, speed, and reliability.

Partner with Product, UX, Data Science, Security, and executives to shape Polaris IQ and data products, expose dependencies, and ensure customer value through scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven history building healthy teams, developing leaders, and delivering complex products with Product, UX, Data Science, Security, and business stakeholders.
• Deep architectural judgment across SaaS apps, APIs, cloud infra, data platforms, CI/CD, observability, and security; GCP and Polaris stack desirable.
• Experience improving developer productivity through platform capabilities, automation, and DevEx KPIs.
• Practical experience adopting AI-assisted development with balance of speed, security, cost, and maintainability.
• Ownership of cloud and software budgets, vendor relationships, capacity planning, and technical contract decisions.
• Calm, decisive leadership and ability to switch between executive communication and hands-on technical work.
• Clear written and verbal communication to explain risk, architecture, cost, and tradeoffs to clients and non-technical leaders.
• Bias toward durable systems, explicit ownership, and delegation to avoid single points of failure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and hold accountable engineering managers and individual contributors across the stack.
• Drive capacity planning, staffing allocations, and the engineering operating budget for cloud, data, AI, tooling, and vendors.
• Shape Polaris roadmap with Product, UX, Data Science, and leadership to balance value, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Translate agency and client needs into a coherent technology strategy for Polaris IQ and related data products.
• Define and manage architecture roadmap, retire fragile systems, and reduce operational cost.
• Manage engineering scorecards and push toward more frequent deployments with CI/CD and observability.
• Own the engineering AI strategy, evaluate agents and runtimes, and assess security and value.
• Oversee end-to-end architecture across Python/Django, React, SQL, Airflow, and cloud tooling.
• Ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, timely, and observable data across advertising and analytics.
• Own SLOs, incident management, and risk reduction for applications, platform, and data workloads.
• Escalate critical incidents with durable runbooks and post-mortem actions.
• Collaborate with Security and Legal on secure architecture, IAM, and vendor risk.
