Job summary

Hawaiʻi Foodbank, the state's largest hunger relief organization, seeks an experienced Vice President of Development to lead fundraising strategy, donor engagement, communications, and development operations across the islands. The role drives sustainable revenue growth and supports the End Hunger Together capital campaign.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the role leads a growing team while personally cultivating major gifts and overseeing donor partnerships, in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive fundraising leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success leading major gifts, annual giving, institutional giving, and campaign fundraising programs.
• Experience securing or supporting six- and seven-figure philanthropic gifts.
• Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience working closely with executive leadership and boards of directors.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills.
• Capital campaign leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience within nonprofit, healthcare, education, human services, or other mission-driven organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that support annual and long-term organizational goals.
• Lead and mentor a growing team of fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and development operations professionals.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift donors.
• Partner with executive leadership, board members, and volunteers to advance fundraising initiatives and donor relationships.
• Provide leadership for a large-scale capital campaign and other strategic fundraising initiatives.
• Oversee donor engagement, corporate and foundation partnerships, planned giving, and annual giving programs.
• Establish fundraising goals, performance metrics, and reporting processes to drive growth and accountability.
• Serve as a visible ambassador for the organization within the community and among key stakeholders.
