Job summary

Attentive is hiring a leadership role overseeing our Applied Science / Data Science team in New York. You will define the vision for applied data science, develop ML solutions, and partner with senior leaders to shape product strategy.

This role blends people management with technical excellence and cross-functional influence. You will mentor high-performing data scientists, drive experimentation frameworks, and translate business problems into scalable analytics that improve product performance

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Statistics, CS, Economics, OR Math, or related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience in Data Science, ML, Analytics, or related disciplines.
• 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing data science teams.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, statistical and predictive modeling, and ML.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering to drive data-driven product improvements.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with large-scale data experience.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence executive stakeholders through data storytelling.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives from ideation to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists / Data Scientists.
• Define and execute the applied data science roadmap with stakeholders.
• Develop statistical models, ML solutions, experimentation frameworks, and causal inference methods.
• Establish best practices for experimentation, measurement, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into scalable analytics solutions.
• Influence product strategy through deep analysis of customer behavior and performance.
• Partner with engineering to deploy production-ready models and insights for leadership.
