Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a Chief Claims Officer to lead the claims function across Casualty, Property, Reinsurance, and other lines. The role reports to the Chief Claims Officer of Clearbrook in New York City and oversees a large team with broad operational scope, shaping profitability and growth through strategic direction and collaboration with underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk, and legal.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in commercial property and casualty claims across a full-scale domestic organization, with operations in US and Bermuda.
• Deep understanding of property and casualty finance, actuarial concepts, claims reserving, and financial outcomes.
• Experience designing and implementing claims technology solutions.
• Analytical, metrics-driven with strong strategy development and execution skills.
• Excellent communication, consensus-building, and client-focus skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to build teams and develop succession plans.

Responsibilities

• Partner with executive leadership to develop strategic and operational plans to meet growth and profitability targets.
• Collaborate with actuarial teams to align claims objectives with financial expectations.
• Manage teams led by People Managers to provide strong claims service and settlements.
• Establish and monitor performance objectives and metrics at all levels.
• Drive continuous improvement in people, processes, and technology.
• Oversee regulatory compliance and vendor contracts to maximize value.
