Job summary

Jobgether SRL seeks a Director of Technology & Chief Architect in the United States to shape the architecture of a high-volume Java microservices platform and lead engineering teams. You will own production systems, establish standards, and translate business needs into a clear technology roadmap while guiding long-term platform evolution.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering, incl. 5+ years as an architect of large systems.
• Expert Java experience with Java 17, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Experience operating production environments with many microservices.
• Strong DB skills across PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle and NoSQL.
• Proven ability to lead architecture reviews and establish standards.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of a large-scale microservices platform and APIs.
• Design high-volume, low-latency systems with strong consistency and auditability.
• Define patterns for distributed transactions and saga/outbox approaches.
• Lead architecture reviews and maintain decision records.
• Identify debt and modernize legacy services with minimal downtime.
• Establish Java standards across frameworks, tooling, and JVM tuning.
• Own data-platform strategy including relational, NoSQL, and caching.
• Guide cloud architecture with containers, Kubernetes, and IaC.
• Set SLOs, observability, incident response, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure security, data protection, and regulatory alignment.
• Build, coach, and grow engineering teams; influence hiring standards.
