Church's Chicken is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare and cook food items according to the Manager in Charge and the Church's Operating Standards Manual. You will set up, monitor fryers, maintain cleanliness, and ensure timely, high-quality food service in a fast-paced setting.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety, proper holding times, and proper equipment operation, reporting any malfunctions and maintaining organization in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours in a kitchen environment.
• Strong communication with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Situational awareness of surroundings and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up batter table, collects smallwares, and prepares batter mix.
• Ensures call sheets are complete, posted and used.
• Checks equipment and reports malfunctions to Manager in Charge.
• Balances fryers and maintains shortening level.
• Filters and cleans fryers per safety guidelines and sanitation rules.
• Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
• Prepares and cooks food as directed by Manager in Charge.
• Ensures food meets specifications and holding times as per SOM.
• Maintains a clean work area using clean-as-you-go practices; stocks and organizes batter area and cooler; handles additional tasks as assigned by Manager in Charge.
