Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and data management across discovery, medicinal, synthetic, and process chemistry. You will translate lab workflows into scalable platform capabilities and lead requirements, configuration, testing, and deployment.

The ideal candidate has strong chemistry domain expertise and hands-on ELN experience (Dotmatics or similar) with experience in data governance, integrations, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal, synthetic, or process chemistry.
• Hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or comparable platforms.
• Knowledge of experiment capture, structures, stoichiometry, and data traceability.
• Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, supporting testing, and releases.
• Experience with regulated R&D environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, REST APIs and data integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, samples, and reporting.
• Translate chemistry workflows into user stories, specifications, and data mappings.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN config, testing, deployment readiness and support.
• Design and optimize workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, and inventory tracking.
• Guide integrations with registration systems, inventory platforms, assays, and lab instruments.
• Support data governance, metadata, reporting, and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including chemists, informatics, validation, and security.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, release notes, and platform documentation.
• Support platform modernization, migration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical and functional leadership to ELN platforms.
