Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and scientific data management solutions across discovery, medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and process chemistry functions. You will partner with scientists, informatics specialists, and technology stakeholders to translate laboratory workflows into scalable and reliable platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong chemistry domain expertise along with hands-on experience with Dotmatics

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, process chemistry, chemical development, or discovery research.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering for chemistry experiments, reactions, and inventory management.
• Translate chemistry workflows into user stories, functional specs, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, workflow design, testing, deployment readiness, defect resolution, and user support.
• Design and optimize workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, structures, stoichiometry, registration, and inventory tracking.
• Guide integrations with compound registration systems, inventory platforms, assay systems, analytical apps, and lab instruments.
• Support data governance, metadata management, reporting, and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across chemists, informatics, validation, infrastructure, security, and vendors.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, test evidence, release notes, procedures, and platform docs.
• Support platform modernization, migration, reporting, integration, and continuous improvement.
