Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and data-management solutions across discovery, medicinal, synthetic, and process chemistry. You will partner with scientists, informatics specialists, and stakeholders to translate workflows into scalable platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate has chemistry domain expertise and hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or similar platforms, plus leadership across requirements, design, integrations,

Qualifications

• Strong domain expertise in medicinal chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and related fields.
• Hands-on experience with chemistry-focused ELN platforms (Dotmatics, Signals, BIOVIA, IDBS, Benchling).
• Experience translating workflows into user stories and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead scientific informatics platforms beyond basic end-user support.
• Experience with pharma R&D environments and data governance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments, reactions, compounds, and inventory management.
• Translate workflows into user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, workflow design, testing, and deployment readiness.
• Design workflows for experiment capture, reaction management, and reporting.
• Coordinate integrations with instrument, registration, inventory, and data systems.
• Support data governance, metadata management, and data quality initiatives.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, test evidence, and release notes.
• Guide platform modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
