Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Scientific Informatics Lead to drive chemistry-focused ELN and scientific data management across discovery, medicinal, synthetic, and process chemistry functions. This role translates complex laboratory workflows into reliable, scalable platform capabilities and requires hands-on experience with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or comparable platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in medicinal, synthetic, process, or discovery chemistry domains.
• Hands-on with Dotmatics Chemistry/ELN or similar informatics platform.
• Knowledge of chemical structures, stoichiometry, data traceability.
• Experience gathering requirements, configuring workflows, testing, releases.
• Platform leadership and stakeholder guidance beyond basic ELN usage.
• Experience with regulated R&D environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery for chemistry experiments and related data.
• Translate workflows into user stories, specifications, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide senior oversight for ELN configuration, workflow design, testing, deployment, defect resolution, and user support.
• Design and optimize experiment and reaction capture, chemical structure management, and data traceability workflows.
• Guide integrations with registration, inventory, assay, analytical, and data systems.
• Lead migration, data validation, reporting, and integration activities.
• Coordinate chemists, informatics teams, validation, security, and vendors.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, test evidence, release notes, and documentation.
• Ensure platform meets scientific, data integrity, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide roadmap planning and continuous platform improvement.
