Prolific is seeking Chemistry Experts and Chemical Engineers to join our Expert Network to help train and evaluate AI models with real-world chemical expertise. If successful, you’ll be invited to join Prolific as a participant to get paid for AI tasks.

Researchers paying for your skills can reach up to $60 per hour, with many tasks requiring about an hour of uninterrupted work, though shorter assignments exist.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related Physical Science field.
• Experience in laboratory research, industrial chemical processing, pharmaceutical R&D, or academic instruction.
• Deep knowledge of organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms.
• Strong understanding of chemical safety protocols (SDS), GHS standards, and regulatory requirements (EPA, REACH, FDA).
• Ability to identify errors in complex IUPAC nomenclature, stoichiometry, molecular geometry, and thermodynamic calculations.
• Ability to explain intricate reaction pathways or molecular interactions in clear, technically accurate language.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-Generated Chemistry: review model responses for factual accuracy and logical reasoning.
• Fact-Check Reactions & Formulas: validate reactions, balancing equations, and viable synthetic routes.
• Audit Technical Documentation: review lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral interpretations.
• Annotate Molecular Data: identify and correct errors in SMILES strings and 2D/3D representations.
• Safety Monitoring: ensure outputs do not instruct synthesis of hazardous substances.
