Job summary

Prolific is seeking Chemistry Experts and Chemical Engineers to join its Expert Network to train and evaluate AI models using real-world chemical knowledge. If selected, you'll complete a short test and, if successful, join as a participant to earn pay while contributing to cutting-edge research.

Participants are paid up to $60 per hour, with tasks requiring about one hour of uninterrupted work, though many are shorter; work from home is supported and flexible hours help fit around other

Qualifications

• Education: a BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related Physical Science field.
• Professional Experience: experience in laboratory research, industrial chemical processing, pharmaceutical R&D, or academic instruction.
• Technical Mastery: deep knowledge of organic, inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-Generated Chemistry: review model responses to advanced chemistry queries for factual accuracy, structural integrity, and logical reasoning.
• Fact-Check Reactions & Formulas: validate AI-generated chemical reactions, balancing equations, and ensuring proposed synthetic routes are viable and safe.
• Audit Technical Documentation: review model-generated lab protocols, safety summaries, and spectral interpretations (NMR, IR, Mass Spec) for accuracy.
• Annotate Molecular Data: identify and correct errors in SMILES strings, 2D/3D molecular representations, and property predictions.
• Safety Monitoring: ensure AI outputs do not provide instructions for the synthesis of hazardous, illicit, or restricted substances.
