CHEMICAL PROCESS OPERATOR

The primary purpose of this position is to operate chemical processes, including adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 1pm-9:30pm, $1.00 Shift Premium

3rd Shift: 5-2-2-5 rotating schedule, 6pm to 6:30am, requires every other weekend, $2.50 Shift Premium

Primary responsibilities include:

• Complying with all safety and regulatory compliance programs.
• Maintaining housekeeping in assigned areas while working safely & following SOPs.
• Using PPE as specified in SOPs.
• Participating in emergency response team activities and training.
• Completing regulatory paperwork, inspections, and checklists as assigned.
• Maintaining regulatory compliance (RCRA, Title V, Air Permits, OSHA) in assigned areas.
• Participating in mandatory Environmental, Health, & Safety and process-specific training.
• Communicating safety, compliance, and equipment needs to shift supervisor or senior operator.
• Filling out inspection check sheets, vessel batch logs, reports, manifests, and check sheets.
• Completing prism tasks related to material transfers, inventory, and work orders, ensuring compliance with SOPs and ISO 9001:2000.
• Operating processes according to SOPs; notifying supervisors of deviations.
• Recording ingredients, weights, temperatures, and inputting data into the database.
• Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in production.
• Troubleshooting production equipment and processes.
• Monitoring machinery and instruments to ensure proper operation.
• Responding to alarms and warning signals to prevent accidents.
• Operating controls, panel boards, and input devices for machinery.
• Sampling and testing chemicals to ensure proper process progression.
• Regulating or shutting off machines in emergencies following instructions.
• Performing auxiliary tasks like tank transfers, loading/unloading trucks, sampling, etc.
• Recommending changes to SOPs and equipment.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

• This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

EXPERIENCE

• Basic computer skills, MS Office knowledge.
• Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English.
