Job summary

Dow Inc. internship opportunity in Plaquemine, Louisiana. You will operate and troubleshoot plant equipment in a team environment, following safety and plant work processes to support reliable production.

You will learn to work with both manual and automated equipment, develop technical skills in automation, and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication within empowered operating teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with one of the following: 5+ years industrial experience as a skilled craftsman or loader, enrolled in a Process Technology program with GPA ≥2.7, or 3+ years military experience.
• U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Shadow/assist Operating Technicians
• Follow Operating Discipline principles and procedures for safe operation
• Take readings and field-check process equipment
• Monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems
• Perform tasks under supervision of an experienced operator
• Troubleshoot unit upsets and abnormalities
• Learn EH&S systems, permits, and emergency preparedness
• Demonstrate Dow's competencies and communicate professionally in a team setting
• Work in a team with minimal supervision and maintain high personal integrity
• Develop technical skills in automation and equipment operation
