Job summary

Henkel in Elgin, IL is seeking a 3rd shift production operator in adhesives manufacturing to operate mixing, blending and packaging equipment, follow SOPs, and ensure product quality and consistency. The role also involves equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting as well as maintaining accurate production documentation.

The position is non-exempt with eligibility for overtime and a $27.00 hourly wage, plus potential shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package starting day one.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and formulas.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and OT.

3rd Shift | Monday‑Friday | 10pm‑6:30am + OT as required | $1.75 Shift Differential included with base pay.

What You´ll Do
  • Operate mixing, blending, and packaging equipment used in adhesive manufacturing.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), batch sheets, and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor production processes and make adjustments to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety documentation.
  • Support housekeeping, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
What makes you a good fit
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing training preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely work with chemicals, equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and formulas.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and follow all safety and PPE requirements.

The hourly pay range for this role is $27.00. This range reflects the good‑faith minimum and maximum hourly rate the Company reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. This role is classified as non‑exempt, and employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. In addition to the hourly wage, employees in this position may be eligible for shift differentials, premium pay, bonuses, or other forms of compensation, depending on role and location. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, training, certifications, and work location.
