Position: Chemical Manufacturing Operator I (Third Shift)

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Chemical Manufacturing Operator I sets up and operates departmental equipment to perform bulk material processing for the department's product line. Operators will be introduced to standard chemical preparations and perform reactions in drying/kiln type furnace operations according to production orders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform all operational steps for powdered starting material, including blending, milling, concentrating off Isopropyl alcohol (IPA), vacuum drying, and calcination.
2. Complete blend calculations.
3. Set up and operate mills, monitor processes.
4. Perform Particle Size Distribution analysis on milled material.
5. Read SOPs & Work Instructions.
6. Prepare reaction vessels by rinsing, disassembling, ultrasonic cleaning, and wiping.
7. Load reaction vessels with prepared chemicals and clean vessels after use.
8. Utilize basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and LIMs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, HSED, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly.
• Ability to wear PPE, including Tyvek suits, gloves, and booties, for extended periods.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and extreme heat within safety limits.
• Eligibility for export compliance for access to U.S. controlled technology.
