Job summary

Materion Corporation in Ohio is seeking a laboratory technician to analyze, test and inspect materials and record results to ensure specifications are met. This role supports daily production and R&D activities in a collaborative lab setting.

You will perform chemical analyses, sample preparation, data entry, and help with equipment maintenance, with opportunities to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in math/chem/material science helpful.
• Prior lab experience in chemical analysis is a plus but not required.
• Some exposure to ISO 17025 Quality System is helpful.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and be highly analytical with good writing/record-keeping skills.
• Must be computer literate with Excel and Word.
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and overtime, including 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory functions for daily production and R&D tasks.
• Performs chemical analysis.
• Assists in sample preparation and other material processing operations.
• Performs minor equipment preventative maintenance as needed.
• Provides process analysis in a group laboratory environment.
• Performs data entry of analysis results and maintains testing databases.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
