Job summary

Colonial Group in Newark, Ohio is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician to support anodizing operations and environmental compliance. The role involves analytical analyses of chemical solutions, sample collection, titrations, dilutions, reagent prep, and use of ICP-OES and spectrophotometer, with daily air quality monitoring.

You will report findings via reports and spreadsheets, and assist during HAZ-MAT or First Aid emergencies, requiring an associate degree and relevant lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemistry, environmental science or equivalent preferred.
• One year of analytical laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience operating an ICP spectrometer or similar PC-controlled instrument.
• Competence in proper laboratory safety protocols.
• Proficient organizational, computational, and communication skills; computer skills including document/spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical analyses using wet lab protocols and acid testing methods.
• Prepare reagents and calibrate laboratory instruments.
• Collect samples and document results in reports/spreadsheets.
• Monitor daily air quality and participate in safety emergencies as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of lab equipment.
