Job summary

IMEG, a 100% employee‑owned firm, invites a Chemical Engineering Intern to join in Ann Arbor, MI for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in chemical process design, PFDs/P&IDs, equipment specs, and field documentation while working with experienced engineers and mentors.

This paid internship exposes you to industrial, manufacturing, and MEP environments. You’ll help with budgets, documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination to meet project goals and client expectations, with

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, CAD software, and BIM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of chemical process projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and support the development of equipment and instrument specifications.
• Develop PFDs and P&ID's.
• Perform engineering calculations and document results.
• Conduct field work to document existing conditions and installations.
• Support cost estimates, including quotes from vendors.
• Assist in process controls design and bid package documentation.
