Job summary

PCA in Valdosta, GA is seeking chemical engineering co-op students for two possible titles: Process Engineering Co-Op or Process Control Engineering Co-Op. Responsibilities include supporting mill projects, data analysis, testing, and startup activities, with exposure to process control systems.

Candidates must maintain a 3.0 GPA, be a permanent US resident with a valid driver's license, major in Chemical or Paper Engineering, completed freshman year, and be at least 18.

Qualifications

• A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is required and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Chemical or Paper Engineering or related field and have completed freshman year (or will have completed during the co-op).
• Must be 18 years or older at time of co-op/intern.

Responsibilities

• Support process optimization and engineering projects to improve mill efficiency, reliability, quality, safety, and cost.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to troubleshoot issues and support decisions.
• Conduct routine pulp, paper, and chemical testing for process evaluations and quality control.
• Monitor process sensing equipment, loops, and control systems for accuracy and reliability.
• Assist with startup activities, maintenance, lab supplies, and safety documentation.
