Aba Austin, part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, is hiring a Chef de Cuisine with 4+ years of kitchen leadership. The role oversees opening shifts, BOH operations, inventory, and cost control across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as Chef de Cuisine in a full‑service restaurant.
• Ability to lead and develop teams.
• Skilled in managing BOH systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the opening shift process, including food orders, inventory, and price updates.
• Direct and support BOH operations, including food prep and maintaining inventory.
• Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance to hourly and management teams.
• Control food cost and procurement of supplies, including daily orders.
• Collaborate with the GM to create prep lists and assign duties.
• Perform regular line checks to ensure menu item quality.
• Communicate production timing and special requests between FOH and BOH.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training BOH staff.
• Model teamwork and address guest/vendor issues with professionalism.
• Work varied days/shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends.
• Move and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
