Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, and monitor all quality assurance standards. Work closely with the Deli/Baker Merchandising team and the Deli/Bakery department to create an engaging environment for customers. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Ability to handle stressful situations

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail experience

• Knowledge of department products and ability to respond to customer questions and suggestions
• Offer product samples and inform customers of specials
• Provide fresh, correctly portioned products to customers
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients
• Ensure product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise
• Report discrepancies and safety issues
• Maintain store layout knowledge and inventory conditions
• Adhere to food safety and temperature regulation standards
• Practice safety procedures, inspect equipment, and report hazards
