Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, and monitor all quality assurance standards. Work closely with the Deli/Baker Merchandising team and the Deli/Bakery department to create an engaging environment for customers. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with ordered products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products as requested.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
• Maintain inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
• Comply with food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Follow safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and participate in preventive maintenance.
• Report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activities.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications
