Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Cypress, TX is seeking a Checker (ages 16-17) to join our Front End team. Under the direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, you will deliver excellent customer service, process sales quickly and accurately, operate the cash register and help safeguard store assets.

Candidates should be able to read and write Spanish/English, follow simple instructions, and stand for prolonged periods while assisting customers and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Explain information clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
