Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is seeking a Checker for Store 031 Houston-Edgebrook (ages 16-17). Under direct supervision, you’ll help customers, scan items, and process sales quickly and accurately in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Candidates should be able to read and write in Spanish and English, lift light to moderate loads, and provide friendly, helpful service. Training is provided. Benefits include a retirement plan and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English and interact with the public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short notes.
• Write simple correspondence.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
