Job summary

Fiesta Mart is seeking a Checker at Store 050 Houston-Lockwood to deliver friendly customer service and accurate checkout processing. You will interact with diverse customers in a fast-paced grocery setting and help maintain store standards.

Responsibilities include handling sales transactions, protecting assets, and performing routine opening/closing tasks. Familiarity with basic PC tools is a plus; physical duties include lifting and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English required and able to interact with the public.
• Read and write simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
• Explain information in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and staff.
• Able to lift (up to 60 lbs) and stand for long periods.
• Retail basic computer skills are a plus.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
