Job summary

Fiesta Mart Houston, part of the Chedraui USA family, is seeking a friendly Checker to join our fast-paced store at 800 S. Wayside Dr. in Houston. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, accurate sales processing, and responsible cash handling in a diverse, community-focused environment.

You’ll interact with customers in Spanish and English, assist with product questions, and help keep shelves stocked and organized while adhering to company standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and ability to interact with customers.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English; able to read/write both languages.
• Able to read and comprehend product labels, prices, and memos.
• Able to write simple correspondence.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand, and stoop for prolonged periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
