Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is hiring a Checker (Store 039 Houston-Bellaire-Gessner) to provide excellent customer service and support the store’s fast-paced environment.

You will perform cash register operations, process sales efficiently and safeguard company assets while meeting standing store expectations. The role requires bilingual abilities, basic computer skills, and physical stamina to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to read and understand labels, pricing codes, shelf tags and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Strong verbal communication for one-on-one and small group interactions.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
