Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle seeks a Level 3 Chassis Tester Software Engineer to drive verification for New Glenn. You design Linux drivers for test instruments, own their lifecycle, and validate against hardware specs in collaboration with avionics engineers.

You will extend automated test frameworks, build operator tools, and emphasize reliability in a fast-paced environment. Expect hands-on Linux, Python, and networked test architectures.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level Python; strong Linux experience and testing frameworks.
• Experience with instrument drivers and hardware interfaces.
• Familiarity with SCPI/VISA communication and network programming.
• Git workflow discipline; CI integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production-quality Linux software drivers for test instruments (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, DAQ).
• Own driver lifecycle: characterization, implementation, integration testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with avionics hardware engineers to define envelopes and validate driver correctness.
• Architect and extend automated test execution frameworks and Themis.
• Develop operator-facing GUI/CLI tools for test campaigns and ensure usability.
