Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills seeks a Vehicle Preparation and Test Setup driver/mechanic to prepare vehicles for chassis rolls testing, fuel with test fuels, purge evaporative canisters, and support SHED testing. You will transport vehicles between soak areas and the dynamometer cell, install vehicles in the test cell, and connect instrumentation.

The role requires following testing protocols, meeting driver-validity metrics, and providing high-quality data on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and show initiative.
• Support calibration testing with vehicle-driving simulation.
• Operate heavy equipment safely.
• Proficient with computers and standard software.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Able to safely operate test vehicles.
• Understand and follow testing procedures.
• Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for chassis rolls testing and SHED testing.
• Transport vehicles between soak areas and dynamometer cell.
• Install vehicles in the test cell and connect instrumentation.
• Drive vehicles per prescribed test cycles ensuring data quality.
• Disconnect test hardware and move vehicles after testing.
• Keep test cell and equipment clean, safe and operational.
• Assist with diagnosing issues and troubleshooting during tests.
