Job summary

Stellantis Auburn Hills, MI, is hiring an Engine Dyno Test Cell Operator to support engine and transmission testing on the 2nd shift. You will install test carts, perform routine engine maintenance, assist with part changes, and conduct light fabrication using MIG/TIG welding.

You will also manage dynamometer controls, run defined tests, and interact daily with powertrain engineers to improve test articles in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an automotive mechanic or related role; automotive repair degree/certification acceptable in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical support for engine and transmission testing on 2nd shift.
• Install and remove test article carts.
• Conduct standard engine maintenance (oil changes, spark plug changes, compression/leak down checks, coolant system pressurization).
• Perform part changes (cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds).
• Light fabrication (MIG & TIG welding, machining, cutting).
• Operate and monitor dynamometer controls, start/stop test articles, run tests, and verify system integrity.
• Collaborate with powertrain development engineers to analyze a test article.
