Stellantis in Auburn Hills seeks a Vehicle Preparation and Test Setup driver/mechanic to prepare vehicles for chassis rolls testing, fuel with test fuels, purge evaporative canisters, and support SHED testing. You will transport vehicles between soak areas and the dynamometer cell, install vehicles in the test cell, and connect instrumentation.
The role requires following testing protocols, meeting driver-validity metrics, and providing high-quality data on schedule.
Vehicle Chassis Rolls Lab Driver/Mechanic prepares vehicles for chassis rolls testing, including fueling with specified test fuels, purging evaporative canisters, and supporting Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination (SHED) testing. This role transports vehicles by PIV between soak areas and the dynamometer cell, installs vehicles in the test cell, and connects the instrumentation and hardware required for testing.
The driver drives vehicles through prescribed test cycles while meeting required driver-validity metrics, including ERR and CSI pedal metrics, to support accurate emissions sampling. The driver will follow established protocols and approved driving and testing methods to provide the engineering team with reliable, high-quality data on schedule.
Upon completion of testing and data acquisition, the driver disconnects and removes test hardware and safely moves the vehicle out of the test cell.
The Driver/Mechanic keeps the test cell and its equipment clean, safe, and operational. The driver also uses mechanical and troubleshooting skills to prepare vehicles, diagnose problems, and help resolve vehicle- and test-cell-related issues promptly.
