Charter School / Education Law Attorney

Boston law firm Krokidas & Bluestein LLP, a premier boutique firm, is seeking an experienced associate to join its thriving education practice.

The ideal candidate will have two to five years of relevant work experience. Qualified candidates will have a strong academic background, exceptional writing and drafting skills, a superior work ethic, excellent organizational skills, sound judgement, the ability to work individually and as part of a team, the capability to respond to client demands efficiently and practically, and a passion for making a difference. The ability to independently handle special education matters, including representing educational entities at IEP Team meetings and before the Massachusetts Bureau of Special Education Appeals is desirable, but we are willing to training a motivated candidate interested in developing an education law practice. Our team approach and extensive industry knowledge help give our clients an edge. Massachusetts bar membership or the ability to waive in is required.

Krokidas & Bluestein provides legal services to nonprofit, for-profit and public clients in the areas of health and human services, civil litigation, labor and employment, real estate development and finance, education (including special education), and tax-exemption/public charities law. In our education practice, we provide services to the full spectrum of organizations involved in education reform, including Commonwealth and Horace Mann public charter schools, Commonwealth virtual schools, nonprofit educational management organizations, and teacher training programs. We also serve independent schools, private special education schools,professional training programs, and daycare and afterschool providers. We advise clients on school formation and operations, board governance, legal compliance, educational contracting, and school closure.We draft, review and implement school policies and procedures, assist with student and family matters, special education, and employment.We help clients address school funding, fundraising, and safety questions.We serve as general counsel for many of our clients.

The compensation range for this position, which will be determined based on a candidate’s relevant experience and productivity, is $110,000 to $165,000.
