Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community seeks a Manager of Charitable Giving & Community Impact to oversee day-to-day operations of the charitable giving program and implement SMSC leadership priorities. This hands-on manager will supervise the Charitable Giving team, evaluate funding requests, coordinate grants and community support, and maintain accurate records.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Tribal Governance, Philanthropy or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in charitable giving, philanthropy, grant administration, tribal relations, nonprofit programs, community impact, or related field.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience, including coordinating work and coaching.
• Experience translating priorities into practical work plans, consistent processes, and measurable results.
• Experience evaluating grant, donation, sponsorship, community investment, or other funding requests and administering approved funding.
• Ability to build relationships with tribal leaders, community partners, senior leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of tribal sovereignty and Native communities preferred.
• Ability to assess complex information and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Experience supervising a team while participating in community events and outreach.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Translate charitable giving priorities into annual work plans, assignments, and activities aligned with SMSC values and objectives.
• Review workflows, staffing capacity, technology, and reporting; implement approved improvements.
• Manage day-to-day administration of grants, donations, and community support for tribal nations and Native organizations.
• Evaluate and administer 1,000+ donation requests and 200+ grant requests; coordinate workload and timely processing.
• Apply funding criteria, policies, and decision processes; maintain records and propose updates.
• Prepare funding recommendations and materials for review by Tribal Administrator and SMSC leadership.
• Maintain understanding of issues affecting Native nations; bring needs to leadership and coordinate responses.
• Build trusted relationships with tribal governments and community partners.
• Identify partnership opportunities and coordinate multi-year initiatives.
• Maintain program data and prepare reports on funding, recipients, and impact.
• Coordinate with Marketing for recipient stories and program results.
• Represent SMSC at events and coordinate outreach; refer requests outside delegated authority to leadership.
• Coordinate and participate in community service, distributions, and outreach as needed.
• Work with Finance to reconcile spending and maintain controls; escalate discrepancies.
• Supervise and develop the Charitable Giving team.
