Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC seeks a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This role supports a 32-bed ED, with 12-hour night shifts on a 3x12 schedule and self-scheduling, fostering flexibility and team-based care.

You will supervise staff, provide direct patient care, and contribute to quality care, while advancing clinical expertise in a busy ED environment. A meaningful, mission-driven workplace awaits.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
• BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• Three or more years of RN Emergency Department experience required.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Supervises nursing and support staff during assigned shifts.
• Performs accurate patient assessments and identifies needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Delivers care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Documents medical necessity in the medical record.
• Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Conducts timely QI assessments.
