Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on a full-time basis. The role features 3x12 hour night shifts and a $20,000 commitment incentive bonus, with a focus on high-quality patient care and teamwork.

The ED unit provides self-scheduling within a 32-bed environment. Licensing, BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required within specified timelines, plus 2+ years ED experience. Benefits include comprehensive coverages and education support.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• Two or more years of RN Emergency Department experience required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
