The Charge Nurse is responsible for the daily management of the nursing unit, focusing on patient safety, throughput, and caregiver accountability. This role supervises and directs unit activities, collaborates with physicians and other stakeholders, and ensures the delivery of safe, quality patient care. The Charge Nurse may float to other units occasionally but primarily remains in their assigned unit. This position requires population-specific competencies and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
